The Central Valley Juneteenth team are highly motivated community members who have the common goal to uplift African American communities in Central California. Through diverse media we strive to observe, educate and celebrate the Freedom day for African Americans in the United States as well as develop a society that promotes equality for all — for generations to come.
We envision an annual festive celebration that honors our resilience, historical significance, and cultural pride — expressed through the aroma’s of southern soul food and traditional African foods, beating of drums, music, dance, and art.
We want to inspire generations and foster an inclusive space for Africans in the diaspora where the spirit of freedom and equality thrives. Like “Sankofa” we will forge a legacy of unity that recognizes the past and propels us toward a future of shared prosperity, justice, and cultural harmony.
